Bridgewater Marina now has five locations where you can rent boats, personal watercraft and a variety of watersports equipment at Smith Mountain Lake.

“Santa Around Bridgewater Plaza,” one of Smith Mountain Lake’s oldest and most beloved holiday traditions, will take place Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bridgewater Plaza.

In June, Bridgewater Marina hosted a community event to celebrate more than $100,00 donated to Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia through our “Feed the Fish for Make-A-Wish" fundraiser.

Exciting news! We've topped the $100,000 mark in donations to Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia and will celebrate with an event for the SML community on June 2, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

What started as a modest fundraiser five years ago has become a true success story thanks to the Smith Mountain Lake community. And the absolute best part is the number of children in Virginia with critical illnesses who have been touched by their amazing support. We wanted to express our thanks by planning something fun for families.

For the second time in four years, I’m excited to announce that Bridgewater Marina was honored with the area’s top award for Tourism and Hospitality by the Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce.

I happily accepted the award, which is voted on by the Chamber membership, at the organization’s annual dinner in March at Bernard’s Landing.

Once again, we are stunned by the extremely generous response to our “Feed the Fish for Make-A-Wish" fundraiser for 2018!

Thanks to you, our amazing customers, we recently contributed $23,509 to Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia.

Boat rental reservations for the 2019 season are now open. 

Bridgewater Marina is excited to announce that, for the second straight year, we will donate 100 percent of popcorn sales to Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia. Our goal is to raise $30,000!

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to donate $25,216 to the Richmond-based charity in 2017 as part of a campaign we call “Feed the Fish for Make-A-Wish.”

If we know anything, it's that the Smith Mountain Lake community is big-hearted.

But the true extent of that generosity?

In fact, there's often SO MUCH going on at the Bridge that it's difficult to keep up!

Kids have been feeding popcorn to the carp that gather around the docks at Bridgewater Marina for decades. For many a trip to Smith Mountain Lake just isn't the same without a stop at Bridgewater Plaza to feed the fish (sound familiar?).
