FAQ

Below are answer to common questions about boat rentals at Bridgewater Marina.

What types of boats do you offer for rent?

We offer a variety of boats, including Tri-toons, fishing boats, deckboats, Personal Watercraft (Sea-Doos), and more. You can choose the one that suits your needs and preferences.

How can I make a reservation?

You can click here to make a reservation online, call to speak with one of our associates or visit our marina. We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred rental, especially during peak season of Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Can I reserve for a few hours?

We offer 2, 3 and 4 hour rentals but these shorter rentals are walk-in only (no advance reservation). Full-day and multi-day rentals can be reserved in advance.

Do you need a boat license to rent?

Everyone who intends to drive must be at least 16 with a valid driver's license and NASBLA Boater's License. All drivers are required to be present at the time of pick-up. Boater's Licenses may be obtained through NASBLA or VA DWR. We recommend completing a NASBLA-APPROVED boating safety course before arrival. Temporary licenses are available at the marina upon completion of our safety course.

Can I bring my dog along?

Pets such as dogs and cats are welcome on our boats. We suggest bringing water, treats and life jacket for those pets who can't swim. Customers are responsible for cleaning after the pet. Any damage to the boat caused by pets will be charged. All pets should be leashed while on docks and property.

What do I need to bring with me when renting a boat?

You'll need a valid photo ID, and a credit card for a security deposit of $1000 to $1500 depending on watercraft. We also recommend bringing appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather, sunscreen, snacks, and drinks.

What is included with the rental boat?

Full tank of gas.
AM/FM/Bluetooth Stereo
Bimini Top for shade
Watersports Tow Bar
Adult Universal Type II USCG APPROVED Life Jackets. Different sizes from infant to XXXL jackets are available upon request.
Dock Lines
Two Fenders
Anchor
Fire Extinguisher
Throw Cushion
(Additional charges may occur for any damage or missing equipment)

Is fuel included in the rental price?

Fuel is not included in the rental price. The boat will come with a full tank of gas and you'll be charged for fuel used beyond that.

Do I have to wear my life jacket?

Passengers age 12 years old and younger are required by law to wear a life jacket while on the boat. Type III life jackets should always be worn by those participating in watersports activities and operating or riding a Sea-Doo (PWC). Watersports activities include kneeboarding, skiing, surfing, tubing, and wakeboarding. Type II and  III life jackets will be provided.

Do I have to take the boat back every night if I have a multi-day rental?

Multi-day rentals may be kept with customers overnight if you have your own dock. If you do not have a dock or place to keep the boat overnight but want it for multiple days, please speak to one of our associates.

Can I return the boat to any one of your locations?

Due to the availability and scheduling of rentals you cannot return the watercraft to different location. All watercraft must be returned to the same location from which they are picked up.

What is your cancellation policy?

We totally get that plans change! If you need to cancel 7 or more days before your rental, you'll receive a full refund.

If it's less than 7 days before your rental, we aren't able to offer refunds but we're happy to help you resechedule to a different date, as long as we have availability.

What is Trip Protection?

Trip Protection is a $35 a day add-on that gives you extra peace of mind. With Trip Protection, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your rental and still receive a full refund. Perfect if your plans aren't 100% locked in yet.

What safety measures do you provide with the rentals?

Our staff will also give you a brief safety orientation before you head out on the water. We conduct a damage inspection of the boat, show you the proper operation of the boat and rules of the water. We also make sure you know where the safety equipment is and how to use it in case of an emergency.

Please call to speak with one of our associates if you have any further questions.
